Yuko Tajima studied with Mikiko Nakamura at the Kunitachi College of Music in Tokio, with Michael Roll at the Folkwang-Hochschule in Essen and with Richard Braun and Vladimir Mendelssohn at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne. She has performed in Germany and Japan, for example at the Ruhr Piano Festival and in the Philia Hall in Yokohama.

www.11-11-musik.de 		The first, third and fourth movements of the opus 10/3 sonata radiate the purest joie de vivre. The young composer is optimistic, conscious of his power, and ready for all life's challenges. By extreme contrast the slow movement draws on ancient, archaic grief. Somehow an aesthetic balance is maintained between these seemingly irreconcilable poles. The challenge of the Moonlight Sonata is to peel off the romantic patina of two centuries to reveal the work in its radical somberness and power.
